Neol grew up in Pennsylvania and Joyce grew up in Michigan, and they met in Lubbock, TX, at Sunset School of Preaching. They were married while there in 1975. After they left Sunset they worked with churches in Pennsylvania -- Blairsville, McKeesport, and Langeloth. They spent ten years living and traveling in a motor home, working with churches along the way. They have also been caretakers at Lariat Creek Christian Camp near Geary, Oklahoma for 3 years before moving here to Watonga.

Neol has two children, Eric who lives near Indianapolis, and Pam Cook, who lives near Albuquerque. Joyce has one son, Joel Allen, who lives near Dallas.

They have seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
